The new all-year-round swimming pool and spa construction well underway. It is due for completion this coming winter. Aside from the outdoor pool (heated to 32 degrees C in winter) there will be a sauna, turkish bath, gym and various other spa facilities. It will be open to all who visit Les Carroz.
Also new for this summer is the Accro-branch tree-top aerial playground! Trees have been cleared and the platforms are being put in place – just the wires to hang up! Set in the woods behind the sports centre, it is a great addition to the facilities that are on offer in Les Carroz for children! This new park is due for completion by the beginning of June 2012.
Due to the incredible snow that has fallen this year, Les Carroz and the Grand Massif ski area is staying open an extra week! We currently have 4 suites available for the w/c 15th April – first come first served, only 500€ per adult half board and children stay for FREE!!
It has been pointed out that I haven’t been adding any news recently! So with only 4 weeks left of the season I will make amends. The snow conditions remain absolutely brilliant – masses of snow still and great weather too!
It has been a very busy season and as of today we only have availability for the w/c 25th March. If you can grab a late holiday it would be the perfect week to come – not busy as the French schools are not yet on holiday.

The first 2 weeks of the season are nearly over – a great start with excellent snowy conditions.
Over the last 24 hours we have had a massive fall of snow – and it is forecast to carry on for the next day or so! There is even rumour of the resort opening a week early!
Looking good! 🙂
In its “mountain” forecast, Météo France have announced, with a rather high confidence index, “heavy snow on Monday and Tuesday.” Meanwhile, Yan Giezendanner (amateur forecaster from Chamonix) predicts a couple of weeks (maybe even three weeks) of snowy weather, with the rain-snow altitude shifting between the altitude of Chambéry (ie 271m) and 1500 metres.
A big thank you to Drumond Park Games who have kindly donated a huge box full of the latest games and toys – perfect for all ages. We have, for the little ones, “Pig goes Pop!” and “Dino Bite”, and for families we have the quiz games; “Egg Head”, “The Best of British”, “The million Pound Drop”, “Articulate! Your Life” and for adults “His and Hers”.
First snow! Yesterday and last night there was snow in Flaine and on the top of the Aravis range!
This winter whilst still offering free child places for all children aged 16 and under we are also able to offer a “Young Adult” (ages 17- 18) price of 375€ per week half board (adult menu) if sharing their parent’s suite.
Please mention this when enquiring.
The other morning, about 8.00 a.m. I saw the Carroz Hot Air Balloon, just lifting over our neighbour’s chalet – what a picture!
According to local lore, with the glut of autumn berries now on the trees and bushes it means we are going to have an excellent winter for snow! OK watch this space and see if the locals know anything!
